Dive into Fall with Megan's Cupcakes

The summer cupcake season came and went really fast.  It was a hot one, but I am proud to say all of our cupcakes survived the heat and were eaten up before the butter cream had a chance to melt!  Now we are on to cool, crisp weather, fun fall flavors, and festivities.  

For the month of September we will be featuring our Caramel Apple Cupcake and our Samoa Cupcake.  The Caramel Apple one is a a cinnamon cupcake with diced apples, topped with butter cream frosting and a caramel drizzle.  In the Samoa cupcake, we have incorporated all the flavors of the famous Girls Scout cookie.  We start with a graham cracker cupcake, top it with coconut cream cheese frosting, and then garnish with toasted coconut and a chocolate drizzle.

If you are in the groove for wedding planning, please join me and Monte Durham from T-L-C's "Say yes to the Dress-Atlanta" on Sunday, October 21st from 11am-3pm at the LITTLE RIVER CASINO RESORT's 2012 Bridal Show!  Yes, Monte will be there and Megan's Cupcakes will be baking for our very first "Cupcake Dive!"  Brides may sign up with Jenn from 107-9 CDY, Cadillacs #1 New Music Station.   The winner of the cupcake dive will win a $250 gift certificate to Saturn Gems and a $300 gift certificate for a Hotel Stay at Tree Tops Resort! 

Need a treat for school, or the office?  Trying to celebrate a mid-week Birthday?  Planning a small or large event and need dessert catered?    As always Megan's Cupcakes will deliver cupcakes in the Cadillac area for no charge to your home, school, office, or event location.  If you would like to sample a flavor or have just ONE cupcake, please go to PBS/Marathon on S. Mitchell and Granite St. in Cadillac.  We deliver fresh cupcakes there on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.  They are sold individually in the doughnut counter.

Summer is here!

It is summer at Megan's Cupcakes and we are in our busy season! We have turned the air conditioning on so our butter cream frosting maintains the perfect temperature. We have added another oven which helps speed the baking process up since we bake all of our cupcakes fresh the day we deliver. And last, Rochelle, is back for the summer following her first year of Culinary School! Welcome back to the kitchen Rochelle!! 

We would like to thank all of our Spring brides for entrusting us to make their wedding pretty and sweet.  Also, a big thanks to all the Mothers of graduating Seniors for letting us take the burden off their shoulders to do the baking for their graduation parties.  

Now its time for some fun summer events and flavors! June is Strawberry season in Michigan. Michigan strawberries are just starting to hit the markets. We use pureed Michigan berries in our Strawberry Cupcake and our Strawberry Butter Cream. They taste and smell just like summer! Then in July, our S'mores Cupcakes are back! These are a huge hit every summer and will remind you of summer camp and cook outs. We start with our graham cracker cupcake, fill it with marshmallow cream, frost it with a cooked fudge frosting, and then garnish with a mini toasted marshmallow. 

If you have not discovered it yet, we deliver fresh cupcakes to The PBS Marathon Station on the corner of S. Mitchell and Granite St. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You can purchase cupcakes individually from the doughnut case. 

In cooperation with the Independence Day festivities, we will be having a Cupcake Eating Contest on Friday, July 6th at 6:30 P.M. in the City Park in downtown Cadillac. You must register to be in the contest and only the first 10 to register will be allowed to participate. Registration forms are available and must be turned in at the Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau in downtown Cadillac.

Please join us for the 2012 Annual Festival of the Arts Taste of Cadillac food Fair on Friday, July 20th 4:00 P.M. to sell-out and Saturday, July 21st 11:00am to 4:00 P.M. You can find us in the Cadillac City Park by the Rotary Pavillion. Not only will we have individual cupcakes for sale, but we will also be individually toasting your mini marshmallows for you as well!

As always, we take orders by the dozen and will deliver to your home, work, event location, or even your camp ground.  Enjoy your summer and we look forward to baking for you and seeing you out and about in downtown Cadillac!

Wedding Cupcake Planning Fun

January is a great month for me to organize, re-group, and begin planning my new year! All spring, summer, and fall, here at Megan's Cupcakes we are busy baking wedding cupcakes and have custom designed cupcake displays for each individual bride and groom's special day. But when January comes, I get to be the bride again and put together my own custom display for my Bridal shows. I'll be choosing what I think will be fun and classy way to serve up wedding cupcakes and choosing my favorite flavors for taste testing at the shows! One of my fall brides actually inspired me this year and I will be going with a vintage classic theme that I am sure you will love. I hope to see you there!

Please join me this January at two Bridal Shows I will be attending! This is a great time for wedding planning. Not only will you be able to visit with the local wedding vendors, but you can taste test Megan's Cupcakes and check out all the display ideas for weddings and showers!
