Sweetest Day with Megan's Cupcakes

This Saturday, October 17th is Sweetest Day and ironically on Sunday it is National Chocolate Cupcake Day. For those of you who remember the old Sander's Bumpy Cake in Detroit, this is my inspiration for this weekends cupcakes! Bridget's Bumpy Cake, is going to be a chocolate cake topped with a line of butter cream frosting and then dipped in my hot fudge frosting. It will be a sure delight! Caramel Apple Cupcakes

My September flavor of the month is the Caramel Apple Cupcake. This is an apple spice cupcake baked with Michigan apples and cinnamon. It is topped with Butter Cream Frosting and drizzled with caramel syrup. It tastes just like fall and I must say that my kitchen smelled wonderful after baking several hundred of them this morning for a September themed apple wedding.

Cadillac Welcome Club

Thank you very much to the ladies of the Cadillac Welcome Club for welcoming me as guest speaker at their September meeting. I enjoyed meeting everyone and most of all serving them cupcakes. We had two flavors tonight: Caramel Apple Cupcake and Lemon with Lemon Butter Cream. I am always so excited to spread the word that the cupcake obsession is right here in Cadillac with my cupcake only catering company, Megan's Cupcakes!

Back to School

As they say, all good things must come to an end. On Tuesday, summer came to an end as children all across Michigan went back to school. It was the topic of discussion on Facebook and families are now getting settled back into a busy routines. My children started school yesterday as well, so it gives me a chance to get my kitchen re-organized from the summer rush. I am also looking forward to cupcake deliveries at the areas elementary schools. Call me anytime to order cupcakes for a child's birthday and I"ll deliver them directly to their Cadillac Area Public Elementary School! It is fun and easy! Have a great school year : )

Cupcakes all Morning

I took a quick break from the kitchen this morning to update you on some treats for the Forth of July weekend. I will be in the kitchen all morning baking our new S'mores cupcake. These graham cracker cupcakes, filled with marshmallow cream and topped with our fudge frosting are truly a delightful treat for the holiday weekend.

In addition to our S'mores cupcakes, we are baking cupcakes for two 1st birthday parties! Extra frosting for the birthday kids...

While the rain has stopped, it is still a touch of grey here in Cadillac, MI. We are looking forward to some sunshine for our wedding cupcake baking this weekend.

Summertime in Northern Michigan

Finally, we have some nice warm weather. I was really staring to wonder if the mercury was ever going to reach about 80 again. As most of you know, it was a very long winter up here with over 19 feet of snow. Last weekend we celebrated with summer solstice with our good friends Tim and Mandy Meyer. With summer now officially here, we can start to think about all the fun activities coming up like the Cadillac Art Festival and Fourth of July weekend. My husband reminds me that the Cadillac Art Festival was once called the Cadillac Art Fair. We are not sure when it changed from a Fair to a Festival. Never-the-less, we are looking forward to seeing all of you around town this summer.

Our springtime was very busy this year. We had orders, showers, parties, and weddings almost every weekend. In addition, we also visited Blackberry Rose and Toy Town in downtown Cadillac, MI. Thank you to everyone for helping us make Megan's Cupcakes a success!

Mother's Day Cupcakes

Baking for me takes me back to my childhood and is one of my earliest memories with my mother. I can remember standing on a chair at the kitchen counter measuring and pouring ingredients and experiencing the pleasure of my finished product. I also remember my mom and all the countless other moms out there who provided the special birthday treats like cupcakes and made of our special days, special. Mother's Day is your day to give back to your Mom. I'm taking pre-orders for Mother's Day Cupcakes. I'll be baking a Strawberry Cupcake with Strawberry Butter Cream Frosting.
