It is hard to believe that it has been three years since we started Megan's Cupcakes with the press release that read

Wedding Cupcakes, Lots of stuff to buy...

We have completed our shopping for our wedding cupcake project this weekend. When you are baking for a big event like a wedding, you need lots of stuff. We have 40 sticks of butter, 20 cups of flour, 26 cups of granulated sugar, 40 eggs, 40 cups of powdered sugar, and 6 cups of fresh Michigan strawberry puree ready to go. The best purchase I ever made for the business is my Cuisinart professional mixer. This mixer has a bigger mixing bowl and 20% more power than the Kitchen Aid (and costs $100's less). I bought the mixer at Blackberry Rose, http://www.blackberryrose.com, in downtown Cadillac, Michigan. Without this power tool to make wedding cupcakes, we would be in trouble.

Well, we had a great weekend. We are thinking about new kitchen space for Megan's Cupcakes in Cadillac, MI. One of the hardest parts of starting a baking business is to have access to a professional kitchen before you are able to open your own store. We have found one. But, we really want to have our own.
